STEIN SMB1000 fixed lowering device with a 1000 kg capacity
The STEIN SMB1000 single pulley lowering device has a capacity of 1,000 kg and is designed to work effectively with ropes up to 14 mm (recommended rope - STEIN Omega 12 mm or 14 mm). The line is guided to the pulley and managed by both front and rear cable guides.
To help prevent tree damage, the device is equipped with 2 replaceable heavy-duty tree protectors made from a durable SBR/NR rubber blend.
The device weighs only 4.4 kg, so it can be easily mounted by one person using the upper suspension point with the recommended STEIN mounting strap (SS-RCP6004).
For added safety, it is recommended to support the device by securing a sling to the base anchor point finished with a self-tightening attachment such as a cow hitch or timber hitch. (Recommended sling - STEIN 20 mm multiple sling SS-3372008005).
Ratchet strap specifications
Supplied with a specially designed ratchet strap featuring carbon steel hooks with locking pins to prevent the mounting hooks from detaching from the device when not under tension. The strap is made from high-tenacity polyester yarn, 50 mm wide, UV resistant, with a breaking load of 6000 kg.
This strapping system allows mounting the device on trees up to 145 cm in diameter.
The ratchet meets the European load restraint standard EN12195-2:2001 requiring the buckle to have a lashing capacity (LC) of 1000 daN. This capacity is stamped on the ratchet along with a label for full traceability.
The breaking strength (BS) of 2000 kg is also shown to indicate the maximum load that can be applied to the buckle before failure.
