PETZL CHICANE

The CHICANE additional brake allows the use of ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks on a single rope. It provides a permanent additional braking action during descent. The excellent grip of the CHICANE and mechanical Prusik assembly ensures smooth rope movement through the brake during ascent. The ergonomic handle offers excellent grip and facilitates movement when returning to the trunk. Thanks to the openable flange, installation is simple and quick.

Description

Allows the use of ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks on a single rope:

• permanent additional braking action during descent, thanks to two friction axles adding extra friction,

• used with an Am'D or OK carabiner (not supplied). The H-profile of the carabiner, combined with the positioning ring of the mechanical Prusik, ensures excellent grip of the CHICANE and mechanical Prusik assembly, allowing smooth rope movement through the brake during ascent,

• ergonomic handle that facilitates movement when returning to the trunk.

Ease of installation:

• openable flange allowing simple and quick installation on the rope,

• triple-action unlocking to reduce the risk of accidental flange opening,

• connects to the upper hole of the mechanical Prusik.

Optimized resistance thanks to two friction axles, available as spare parts.

CHICANE allows work in compliance with ANSI Z133 standard.
