The CMC™ CLUTCH™ by Harken Industrial™ is a versatile product that enables efficient movements, controlled descents, easy ascents, and reliable stops.
It functions both as a descender and an ascent device, offering multiple solutions for managing ropes under high loads. CLUTCH is the result of a collaboration in design and production between two experts with over 90 years of combined experience in high-load rope management: CMC, a company rooted in rescue and rope access; and Harken Industrial, a company with nautical origins.
Readiness and unique value: CLUTCH combines features typical of more complex devices with those of less sophisticated descenders. This allows rescue teams to carry less equipment while still being prepared to perform even the most complex rescues.
More precise descents: The patented mechanical geometry inside the CLUTCH, combined with its ergonomic handle, ensures better load control during descent.
Designed for intuitive and safe use: The CLUTCH is designed for simple and efficient use to guarantee optimal control. The innovative double-locking side plate is completely independent from the device's anchor point, thus preventing accidental openings.

Efficiency for better performance: The faceted ratchet pulley of the CLUTCH, made of stainless steel, securely holds and locks the rope. It is also exceptionally effective in ascent or hauling operations.
