Product description
The Edelrid Shield II climbing helmet is ideal for long mountain routes. Shield II features an ultra-light In-Mold construction, made of an ergonomic expanded polystyrene (EPS) mold with removable padding and an outer polycarbonate shell.
EPS (expanded polystyrene) is high-density polystyrene and is currently the best material for absorbing and isolating impacts, even severe ones.
In the event of an impact, the usually open cells of the polystyrene close and absorb the energy released before it can be transferred to the head. The internal padding is also removable for washing and maintenance.
The innovative Wing-Fit adjustment system adapts to all sizes. It has large vents for excellent airflow and four clips for a headlamp.
