The Edelrid Giga Jul belay device and climbing descender is versatile, lightweight, and durable, ideal for mountain use with ropes between 7.1 and 10 mm in diameter.
The device is made of aluminum and stainless steel in high-wear and friction areas, offering not only lightness but also strength and long-lasting performance.
Giga Jul operates both as a classic manual belay device and as an assisted braking system.
The two modes, Guide and Assisted Guide, intuitively adapt to your needs.
The first mode is designed for belaying the lead climber, second climber retrieval, and rappelling. The assisted braking mode provides increased safety in case of a lead climber fall.
Even in assisted mode, you can quickly feed rope to the lead climber by keeping the device in the "open" position with your thumb.
